Why the Nefertiti Neck Lift Has Become One of My Favourite Treatments

Over the past few years, one of the treatments I have come to appreciate the most in clinic is the Nefertiti neck lift. It is a simple, non-surgical treatment that can make a noticeable difference to the lower face and jawline, often with very natural-looking results.
Many patients start to notice changes in the neck earlier than they expect. The jawline may feel less defined, the skin under the chin can appear looser, and the lower face may start to look heavier. These changes are usually caused by a combination of muscle activity, skin laxity, and gradual loss of collagen.

The Nefertiti neck lift works by relaxing the platysma muscle, the muscle that pulls the jawline and neck downward. When this downward pull is reduced, the opposing muscles can lift slightly, creating a more defined jawline and a smoother neck contour.
What I particularly like about this treatment is that the results are subtle. Patients often say they look fresher or more defined, but not “done.” It is also a very safe and predictable treatment when performed with careful assessment and dosing.
However, Botox alone is not always enough especially when the main concern is loose skin rather than muscle pull. This is where treatments that stimulate collagen can play an important role.
As we age, the skin gradually loses collagen and elasticity. The support structure becomes weaker, and the skin can start to feel thinner or looser. In these cases, strengthening the skin itself can be just as important as relaxing the muscles.
This is where collagen-stimulating treatments such as Radiesse or Sculptra can help.
Radiesse and Sculptra are not traditional fillers. Instead of simply adding volume, they work by encouraging the body to produce new collagen over time. This can help improve skin firmness, support the tissues, and create a more stable foundation for the neck and jawline.
In the neck area, these treatments are often used in a diluted form to improve skin quality rather than create volume. Over the following months, the skin can become:
firmer
stronger
more elastic
more resilient
This gradual improvement can make the neck look tighter and more supported, particularly when combined with treatments such as the Nefertiti neck lift.
In many patients, the best results come from combining treatments rather than relying on a single approach.
For example:
Botox can reduce downward pull
Radiesse or Sculptra can strengthen the skin
Skin treatments can improve texture and hydration

Together, these treatments address the different causes of ageing rather than just one.
Some patients benefit mainly from muscle relaxation, while others need more support for skin quality and structure. There is rarely a single solution for the neck and jawline.
This is why the Nefertiti neck lift has become one of my favourite treatments. It is effective, subtle, and often forms the foundation of a broader treatment plan that keeps results natural and balanced over time.
If you are starting to notice changes in your neck, reduced jawline definition, or early looseness under the chin, a consultation can help determine which combination of treatments may be most appropriate.
